2021 Season of Creation Activities
Mass on World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, Wednesday, September 1 at 9 am. We celebrated the 9 am Daily Mass with Fr. Joe. Unfortunately, plan on a 30-minute walk on the trails behind the church was cancelled due to Tropical Storm Ida.

Documentary Screening on Friday September 17 at 7pm. We watched a screening of the Documentary "Need to Grow - Save the Soil. Save the World." The documentary follows three people as they advance the efforts of regenerative farming in different ways. See Trailer here.
Lawyers Road Cleanup September 18 at 9 am. Volunteers met in the upper parking lot at SJN near Lawyers Road for the quarterly roadside cleanup. Fortunately, the amount of trash along the road has greatly diminished as a result of our cleanups.
Sign Up to receive Daily Reflections. For the 34 days of the Season of Creation, we reflected on God’s creation and Care for our Common Home. These reflections, authored by a member of the Creation Care team at the Paulist Center in Boston, appeared in the 2019 in the National Catholic Reporter and were well received. Blessing of the Pets October 3 at 1 pm. In celebration of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, Fr. Don gave a blessing of pets around the flagpole area.
Feast of St. Francis of Assisi Mass and Nature Walk October 4 at 9 am. Fr. Michael led us on a prayerful nature walk to celebrate the conclusion of the Season of Creation. After the 9 am mass, we gathered for a walk in the woods behind the church, reflecting on Francis of Assisi's Canticle of the Creatures.
